PNB Launches New Scheme For Students

Punjab National Bank has launched a unique scheme "PNB VIDYARTHI SAVINGS ACCOUNT" on the occasion of Teacher's Day. Students of age 10 years and above can open Saving Account with ZERO balance. Under this scheme, students can open new account without any minimum balance or payment of any other charges. Students above 18 years of age and staying away from their parents, for studies, can avail overdraft facility up to Rs.10,000/- to meet out their short term requirements. Under this scheme, students shall have added benefits of free cheque book, no commission on drafts for Examination fee & other fee, no incidental charges and no condition of maintaining minimum balance in the account. This account would also be enabled through Internet Banking Services and Debit Card.
While launching the scheme, Shri U.S. Bhargava, General Manager, PNB, said that for the first time in country, Overdraft facility to students without insisting on any security is available under this newly launched scheme. He added that the move would certainly benefit the students. PNB has always attached highest importance to their customers and had the opportunity of having the most prestigious personalities like Lala Lajpat Rai, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and Father of the Nation, Mahatama Gandhi as its customer.
Addressing the teachers, Sh. Bhargava said that PNB has many attractive facilities for teachers in their salary account. While addressing the students, Sh. V. K. Nagar, General Manager, PNB Delhi Zone said that PNB is already offering student friendly schemes like PNB Sarvottam Shikhsha & PNB Vidyalakshyapurti - Education Loan scheme for professional education and for general courses, respectively.
