Govt. directs OMC's to maintain un-interrupted Supply to
Flood Affected Areas

Govt today directed the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to
maintain the supply of petroleum products specially the
cooking and transportation fuels viz. LPG, kerosene and petrol
& diesel in the flood affected parts of Karnataka, Andhra
Pradesh and Maharashtra.
In a review meeting here today, Petroleum Minister Deora
emphasized that the OMCs should put in extra efforts in order
that un-interrupted supplies reach the relief camps set up in
the areas. OMCs should also mobilize fuel supply to the rescue
parties and vehicles in the area, he added.
The Minister was informed that the OMCs have put their
marketing network on high alert in order to supply petroleum
products in the flood affected parts of these States. District
level coordinators in various States are in touch with the
State Government officials in the districts.
By and large the supply of petroleum products have been
maintained in these areas including the supplies to rescue
teams and vehicles as well as the relief camps.
The Minister also asked Oil Companies to undertake relief and
rehabilitation as part of their Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) programme in keeping with the past
traditions. He underlined the need for gearing up to make
additional supplies of petroleum products to these areas as
and when the requests are received from the concerned State
Government.
