Vayalar Ravi Expresses Concern over Student Suicides in Australia

Several cases of suffering of students recruited through unscrupulous Indian agents working as recruiting officers for fraudulent educational institutions in Australia have become rampant, caught the eyes of overseas ministry.

The Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Shri Vayalar Ravi while delivering his address at a community reception in Melbourne, assured the Indian Community that unscrupulous Indian agents involved in creating harassments of Indian students in Australia would be nabbed and taken to task.

Shri Ravi was distressed to learn about a few suicides having been committed by Indian students and the community had to pool resources to fly the bodies back to India. He said such practices of unscrupulous Indian agents sully the image of India in Australia and act against promoting educational ties between both countries.
