Revolutionary Marker system introduced to detect Adulteration

New Delhi October 05, 2006

Ever wondered how it would be if your body intakes food that is adulterated or charred. With no surprises you would choke! If human body can gauge and respond to such unscrupulous course, so can the machines. Machines are designed to be a piece of state-of-the art, handy, efficient and self-sufficient. But if they are deprived of right kind of food for their body, even their durability and workability takes a backseat.

To put an end to such crooked exercises, IOC has devised a ubiquitous tool which will be a proof of legal application of basic fuels.

A new marker system to this effect that will detect adulteration of kerosene in Petrol and Diesel, was launched yesterday at Indian Oil’s Bijwasan terminal by Shri Suresh Pachouri, Hon’ble Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions and Parliamentary Affairs in the presence of Shri Murli Deora, Hon’ble Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India and other distinguished dignitaries. The adulteration of diesel and petrol with marker blended kerosene would immediately show through a simple visual check up when tested using a simple kit.

Being the first of its kind, the new marker system is expected to curb auto fuel adulteration using kerosene and achieve a breakthrough by putting an early end to this scourge.
