Finance Minister inaugurates PNB's Network Operation Centre

New Delhi, October 25, 2005 

Shri P. Chidambaram, Hon'ble Finance Minister, Govt. of India inaugurated Network Operation Centre of Punjab National Bank (PNB) in New Delhi. Shri S.C.Gupta, CMD, Shri C.P.Swarnkar, ED, PNB, Senior Officials of Ministry of Finance and top officials of PNB were also present on the occasion.

Complimenting the Bank, Shri Chidambaram said that PNB has taken another giant step forward to make Indian Banking industry competitive and world class. Banks' in-house Human Resource has been largely deployed to set up Network Operation Centre. He said that technology and capital are two eyes of banking industry which cannot be ignored. 

PNB has set a target to increase its CBS network branches from 1000 as on March 2005 to 2000 as on March 2006.
