GAIL appoints ILF Consulting Engineers Limited, UK, 

Technical Consultant for Iran-Pakistan-India Pipeline Project 


GAIL (India) Limited today appointed ILF Consulting Engineers Limited, UK as ‘Technical Consultant’ to carry out a pre-feasibility study including preliminary Environment Impact Analysis (EIA) and Rapid Risk Analysis (RRA) study report for Iran – Pakistan India pipeline project. ILF is well renowned international consultant who has carried out various pre-feasibility study / feasibility studies on transnational pipelines for oil and natural gas.

The technical consultant will conduct the study on technical viability of Iran- Pakistan- India pipeline project. The basic contents of pre-feasibility study are Route selection, Design parameters, System reliability, Redundancy, Safety, Security, Hydraulics, Sizing, Cost estimation, Sensitivity analysis, Risk analysis and mitigation measures, Project Construction Schedule and Project Implementation Strategy.

Based on technical study, the technical consultant will provide all the necessary inputs to Financial Advisor for the development of project structure and commercial transaction structure. The technical consultant will submit the pre-feasibility study report within two months. 

GAIL has been entrusted with the responsibility to appoint the Technical and Legal Advisors for the Iran-Pakistan-India Pipeline Project. GAIL has floated global tenders for appointment of both Technical and Legal Advisors for the Iran-Pakistan-India Pipeline Project on the 1st of September, 2005. The companies that participated in the bidding are JP Kenny of Australia, Tractebel of Belgium and ILF Consulting Engineers Limited of UK.
