Kazakhstan celebrates the Republic Day

October 25th is a State Holiday in Kazakhstan. On that day in 1990 "The
Declaration on State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was
adopted by then Supreme Soviet (Parliament) of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist
Republic which led to regaining by the country full fledged sovereignty from the
former USSR.
Kazakhstan gained full independence on December 16, 1991. One of the first
countries to recognize Kazakhstan and to establish diplomatic relations with the
newly born country was the Republic of India.
This day is usually celebrated all over Kazakhstan by holding festivities,
concerts and sport events.
The Independence Day on December 16 is being celebrated as the national
holiday in Kazakhstan, while the Republic Day is celebrated as a state holiday.
