24 SAIL employees to receive Shram awards

 

New Delhi, October 01, 2004

 

A total of 24 employees of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) will receive the prestigious Prime Minister’s Shram Awards for the years 2002 and 2003 at the presentation ceremony to be held at Vigyan Bhavan on Monday, 4th October 2004.

 

The awards for 2003 include a Shram Ratna, the highest honour among the Shram Awards, to be presented to a five-member team of Bhilai Steel Plant. Another five-member group from Bhilai and a Technician-Electrician from Bokaro Steel Plant will receive Shram Vir awards.

 

Five of the awards for 2002, including one Shram Bhushan, two Shram Virs and two Shram Shris, will go to 13 SAIL employees working in the Bhilai, Bokaro and Rourkela Steel Plants.

 

Since 1986, SAIL employees have won 46 Shram awards, involving 76 workmen.
