India, Brazil to sign Air Service Agreement

India and Brazil will sign Air Services Agreement. Approval for this was
given by the Union Cabinet which met here on Wednesday. The new arrangement
signifies an important landmark in the civil aviation relations between India
and Brazil and will pave the way for establishment of air links between the two
countries. The essential features of Air Services Agreement are as follows :-
- Both the countries shall have the right to designate one or more airlines
for the purpose of operating the air services.
- The frequency of services and the capacity to be operated by the
designated airlines shall be determined by the aeronautical authorities.
- The agreed services shall be operated by the designated airlines of both
the countries on the routes specified for them.
