ONGC Hazira Plant
bags OISD Safety Award

ONGC Hazira Gas-Processing Plant has bagged the prestigious ‘Oil
Industry Safety Award’ for 2005-06. The award was announced by Oil Industry
Safety Directorate under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
Murli Deora, Petroleum Minister, presented the award to ONGC’s Director
(Offshore) N K Mitra, Director (Onshore) A K Hazarika, Head Hazira Plant P K
Johri and Head HSE, Hazira Plant A K Bansal on November 10, 2006 at Mumbai.
The recognition is an indicator of the rich HSE culture of the oil major and
its collective commitment to excel with focus on development in a safe and
environment-friendly manner. ONGC has a unique distinction of having all its
operational installations accredited for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment
Management (QHSE).
Hazira Plant – the biggest gas-processing plant of India - restored
operational normalcy, twenty-two days ahead of schedule after the plant faced
one of the worst floods in August 2006, demonstrating the strength of its
system.
Hazira Plant of ONGC has received several awards in the past from National &
International Institutions like National Safety Council, Greentech, RoSPA,
British Safety Council, etc.
