Delhi to Host 10th Fortune Global Forum
New Delhi November 09, 2006
World's leading business magazine, FORTUNE has announced the dates for
another global forum, this time India placed at the helm of the event.
Being the Tenth Fortune Global Forum, this event will be organized in New
Delhi, India, 29-31 October, 2007. "Mastering The Global Economy" will be the
theme of FORTUNE magazine's tenth Global Forum which will bring multinational
business leaders, top government officials, and leaders in economics, academia,
the arts and humanities from around the world together in India.
Earlier the world was immensely China centric, and with a well known fact
that China is important as a growing Global power, interests in India are
growing at a simultaneous level. More and More Indian companies are becoming
willing, able and eager to participate in the world forum.
The theme, "Mastering the Global Economy" reflects the tremendous amount of
change and the new mandates for multinational corporations. As world economies
become more independent upon each other and as corporations continue their
expansion around the world, there are new responsibilities, opportunities and
considerations for the leaders of those corporations.
India has been chosen to serve as host city to a global dialogue amongst
global leaders to achieve its mission of creating innovation, inclusiveness,
sustainability and knowledge. India today is not only the youngest country in
the world but also the one providing the very basis of growth, development and
innovation with a median age of 23. These budding youth have fresh talents and
youthful profiles. Therefore it is not only India's outlook & capability that
brings it on the global stage but also its Youthful population and their
enthusiasm.
Companies like IOC, Reliance, ONGC, Hindustan Petroleum, SBI etc will be the
participants of the event. Though all these years Europe has topped the charts,
followed by the US, a positive development is taking shape. On one hand where
the figures of Japan are slightly trailing, the numbers of Indian companies on
the list have been increasing every year.
Various features of the Forum with a substantial reckoning in the world have
made this forum not only popular but highly respected worldwide. Last year after
delivering a spectacular event in Beijing, 2006, the Magazine is confident of
conducting an even better and memorable event in India late next year.
