GAIL wins OISD awards for

HVJ Pipeline and Usar LPG Recovery Plant 

Mumbai, 28 November, 2005

GAIL (India) Limited has bagged three coveted Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) Awards for its Hazira – Vijaipur – Jagdishpur (HVJ) pipeline and Usar LPG recovery plant for the year 2004-05. Shri S C Tripathi, Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Gas. presented the awards to Shri S P Rao, Director (Projects), Shri B S Negi, Director (Business Development) and Dr. U D Choubey, Director (Marketing).

These awards were given in the category of Cross country pipeline and Other Processing Plants. GAIL’s HVJ pipeline and the LPG recovery plants at Usar and Pata got the OISD award in the respective categories.

The selection criteria for the awards is based on the penalty rating, derived from hazard potential is based on the complexities in operations, throughput etc. The penalty points are based on the loss of lives, injuries, production loss etc. as well as the safety management systems adopted during the period.

GAIL’s LPG Recovery plant at Pata got the OISD award for the year 2003-04.
