GAIL wins Golden Peacock award 2005

GAIL has won the Golden Peacock National Training Award 2005. The award was presented today by Shri Arjun Singh, Hon'ble Minister of HRD, Government of India to Shri R K Goel, Director (Finance) of GAIL. His Holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar also graced the occasion.
GAIL was selected for the award by a jury under the chairmanship of Shri N K Sinha, Chairman, Public Enterprises Selection Board.
GAIL has set up its World Class Training Institute at Noida, in collaboration with DANIDA (Danish International Development Assistance). The Institute also has a joint business arrangement with the Institute of Gas Technology (IGT), USA. GAIL Training Institute (GTI), an ISO 9001:2000 certified Institute caters to the manpower and technology development needs of Indian and the Southeast Asian Gas Sector, particularly in the field of Natural Gas.
GAIL has an established Training Policy and Trainings imparted to the employees are as per their training needs and meeting organizational requirements. Alignment of trainings with the company’s strategy is the strength of GAIL. Target of providing minimum one training to each employee is set as per the policy and persuaded religiously. GAIL also regularly sends batches of employees to various IIMs, ISB, to attend specially designed Training packages. Some of the unique Training Initiatives are “Young GAIL Unlimited”, “Senior Management Development Centre”, “Looking Beyond Lecture Series”. GAIL has partnerships with ISB Hyderabad, EDI Netherlands to leverage international experience and meet challenging future requirements. GAIL had also expanded the domain of building up Technical Skills, introducing Technical Training Centre at Jaipur.
