Bulgaria offers coaching to Indian sportspersons

Bulgaria has offered training and coaching facilities for Indian sportspersons in weightlifting, gymnastic, shooting and rowing at his famous sports academy in Sophia. Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Bulgaria, Mr. Feym Tschaushew who called on Shri Sunil Dutt, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports said that Bulgaria would like to have Indian experts to train Bulgarian sportspersons in Hockey and Badminton. The Bulgarian Minister also discussed scope of bilateral cooperation in the area of youth affairs. He underlined the importance of frequent exchange of youth delegations between India and Bulgaria to familiarise the youth of each other’s cultural heritage.

Apprising the Bulgarian Minister of Indian Governments’ initiative to promote sports, culture and youth welfare, Shri Sunil Dutt invited Bulgarian football team to participate in Indian tournaments and Bulgarian sports officials in the conference on dope to be held next year in Delhi. He informed the Bulgarian Minister that a massive programme has been planned to upgrade sports facilities in the country.

A task force is making study of the existing facilities of the Sports stadiums and these will be upgraded in time bound manner in view of forthcoming Commonwealth Games and India would like to take benefit of Bulgarian expertise in this venture. Shri Dutt said that his Minisry is planning to create sports facilities in a big way at each village/town level to promote sports culture in the country.
