NTPC signs long term FSA with CIL

New Delhi, May 29, 2009

NTPC Limited signed a long term Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA)with Coal India Limited (CIL) for supply of coal to NTPC power stations for a period of 20 years at CIL Headquarters in Kolkatta.   The Agreement was signed by Chandan Roy, Director(Operations) NTPC and N.C. Jha, Director (Technical) CIL in the presence of R. S. Sharma, CMD and Partha S. Bhattacharya CMD, CIL. Senior of officials both the organizations were present on the occasion.

NTPC is the largest power generation company with an installed capacity of 30144 MW. Company contributed 28.60% of the total electricity generated in the country during 2008-09 with 18.79% share of the total installed capacity of the nation.

The company is now emerging as an integrated power major with presence in Hydro power, coal mining, power distribution , power trading, E&P and in plans presence in Manufacturing Power Plant Equipments, Renewable Energy and Nuclear Power.
