NTPC’s Profit up by 58% for Q4

NTPC Limited, India’s largest power generating company having an installed capacity of 30144 MW has announced results for the fourth quarter ended March 2009.

For the fourth quarter, Profit after Tax has increased from Rs 1,339 crore to Rs.2,113 crore registering a growth of 57.77% . The sale of energy has increased from Rs. 10,744 crore to Rs. 11,446 crore, up by 6.54%.

The Company has declared audited Net Sales of Rs 41,924 crore during 2008-09 as against Rs. 37,050 crore registering an increase of 13.16%. The Gross Revenue crosses Rs. 45,000 crores during 2008-09 registering an increase of 13.13 %.

Profit after tax for the year 2008-09 is Rs. 8,201 crore as compared to Rs. 7,415 crore during the year 2007-08, an increase of 10.61% over previous year.

The total assets of the Company have crossed Rs.1,00,000 crore mark and are up by 17.72% over last year.The Board of Directors has recommended highest ever dividend of 36% for the year.
