POWERGRID pays interim dividend of Rs. 210.45 Crore

 

New Delhi, March 21, 2008


 

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has paid an interim dividend of Rs.176.68 Crore, for the financial year 2007-08.

 

Dr. R.P. Singh, CMD, POWERGRID handed over the interim dividend cheque to Sh. Sushilkumar Shinde, the Hon’ble Union Minister of Power in the presence of senior officials of the Ministry of Power and POWERGRID Board members.

 

POWERGRID has been consistently paying dividend to the Government of India for more than a decade. POWERGRID came out with an IPO in September’07 comprising fresh issue of 10% of its share capital coupled with a disinvestment of 5% of its share capital on behalf of Govt. of India. Its shares got listed on 5th October’07. With this listing, about 13.64% of its equity shares of 4208 million are with the public.

 

The company has close to 11 lac shareholders and 5% of interim dividend on the share capital is being distributed to all the shareholders existing as on 11.03.2008. The total interim dividend being distributed is to the tune of Rs.210.45 Crore.
