BEML net rises 45% to Rs
172 cr in Q4

State-run engineering firm BEML announced a standalone net
profit of Rs 172.02 crore in the fourth quarter ended March
31, 2009, up 45.16 per cent over the corresponding period a
year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 118.5 crore during the same
quarter last year, BEML said in a filing with the Bombay Stock
Exchange.
Standalone total income increased to Rs 1282.27 crore in the
quarter under review from Rs 1099.43 crore in the same period
previous year.
For the year ended March 31, 2009, standalone net profit of
the company rose to Rs 268.84 crore from Rs 225.65 crore in
the previous year.
Its standalone total income jumped up to Rs 2,907.14 crore in
the year under review from Rs 2,634.43 crore during the last
fiscal.
For the year ended March 31, 2009, consolidated net profit of
the group climbed up to Rs 270.10 crore from Rs 227 crore in
the previous year.
Consolidated total income rose to Rs 2899.22 crore in the year
under review from Rs 2627.29 crore in the last fiscal.
The board of directors recommended a dividend of Rs 12 per
share for the year 2008-09, it said.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 904.50, up 0.85 per cent
from the previous close on the BSE.
