Mahindra appoints new CEOs for Tech M, Satyam

Effecting top level changes in its IT firms, Mahindra Group appointed C P Gurnani as the Chief Executive of Mahindra Satyam, while Sanjay Kalra would hold the same position in Tech Mahindra.

The outgoing Chief Executive of Tech Mahindra, Vineet Nayyar, has been made the Executive Vice-Chairman of both the companies.

"We are contemplating a common governance board for both the companies, which will determine the rules and seek out congruence," Nayyar told reporters here.

Satyam's A S Murthy, who was appointed CEO by the government board after the multi-crore rupee scam broke out in the then Satyam Computer Services, would continue to be with the company, he said.

Kiran Karnik would continue to be Satyam Chairman till further orders are received from the Company Law Board.

Kalra was the President of Strategic Initiatives, Tech Mahindra, while Gurnani was the Head of Tech Mahindra's Global Operations, Sales and Marketing functions.

Mahindra appointed S Durgashankar as the Chief Financial Officer of Satyam. He was earlier Senior Vice-President of the Mahindra Group.

Going ahead, the Group would look at merging Tech Mahindra and Satyam, but no date has been set for the purpose.
