Neyveli Lignite posts net profit at Rs 821.09 cr for FY'09

Neyveli Lignite Corporation reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 821.09 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009.  

The total income stood at Rs 4,019.89 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009, Neyveli Lignite said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company for the first time reported its consolidated net profit, hence the comparable figures for the year-ago period were not available.

Besides, it has recommended a dividend of Rs 2 per share for the financial year ended March 31, 2009, subject to approval of board members.

On the standalone basis, Neyveli Lignite posted a 25 per cent decline in its net profit at Rs 821.09 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009, as against Rs 1,101.57 last fiscal.

The company registered a total income of Rs 4,019.89 crore in FY'09, while it had a total income of Rs 3,638.07 crore in the previous fiscal.

Shares of Neyveli Lignite were quoting at Rs 122.95, up 1.24 per cent in the morning trade on the BSE.
