Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers & Steel Ram Vilas Paswan announced that NFL has been taken out of the disinvestment list.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman & Managing Director of NFL P.S. Grewal said that (NFL) – Schedule “A”, A Mini Ratna and ISO-9001: 2000 Certified Company has received “Excellent” rating under MoU System by Govt. of India, Department of Fertilizer for the year 2002-2003” for the Eighth time.
NFL has been getting “Excellent” rating due to its outstanding performance year after year. The Company has already signed MoU for the year 2004-05 with the Govt., under which, NFL has envisaged 100% annual installed capacity utilization, improve productivity, implement international safety standards, besides undertaking orientation programmes aimed at consumers’ satisfaction along with improved energy consumption norms.
During the fiscal 2003-04, NFL produced record 32.56 lakh tonnes of Urea and 100% capacity utilization and all Units of the Company achieved a minimum of 100% capacity utilization.
On the Sales & Marketing front also, the Company achieved record fertilizers sales to the tune of 34.51 lakh tonnes during 2003-04, which is highly commendable. NFL is a pioneer in the development and production of Neem-coated Urea, which has revealed increased crop yields by 4 to 5%. In addition to Panipat Unit, the Bathinda Unit of the Company has also commenced production of Neem-coated Urea.
NFL is the First Company in Nation’s Fertilizer Industry to have its total business covered under ISO-9001: 2000 Certification.
