India, Croatia Agreement On Visa Exemption

The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for signing and implementation of the Agreement between India and Croatia on visa exemption for the holders of diplomatic and official/service passports. An Agreement is scheduled to be signed on February 22, 2005 in New Delhi during the visit of Croatian Foreign Minister.
The salient features of the Agreement are
- A citizen of one country holding a valid diplomatic or official/service passport would be exempt from visa requirement while entering, transiting through or existing from the territory of the other
country
- A citizen of one country holding the said passport shall be allowed to stay in the other country’s territory for a maximum period of 30 days without a
visa
- Members of diplomatic Missions/Consulates of respective countries as well as their spouses and children would be allowed to enter each other’s territory without visas as and their stay beyond visa free stay of thirty days would be regulated by the rules of the country
concerned
- Each country has the right to refuse the permission of entry to the citizen of the other country or shorten the period of this/her stay in its territory.
- Either country may suspend a part of or the whole Agreement for reasons of national security or public order or public health. Any decision to this effect shall be notified through diplomatic channels.
- The Agreement may be amended by mutual consent of the two countries.
- The Agreement is concluded for an indefinite period. The Agreement can be terminated by either side by giving to the other side, a notice of sixty days, through diplomatic channels.
