JV Agreement between NTPC and UPRVUNL

New Delhi, February 29, 2008
NTPC Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam
Limited (UPRVUNL) have signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA)
for implementation of 1320 MW (2X 660 MW) coal based thermal
power plant at Meja, Distt. Allahabad, UP today.
The project shall be implemented by (50:50) JVC of NTPC and
UPRVUNL on Build, Own and Operate (BOO) basis.

The Agreement was signed in the presence of Ranveer
Upadhyay, Energy Minister, UP, by T. Sankaralingam, CMD, NTPC
and G.B. Patanayak, CMD, UPPCL for and on behalf of UPRVUNL.
R.S. Sharma, Director (Commercial), NTPC, Alok Tandon, MD,
UPRVUNL and I.B. Pandey, Regional Executive Director (North),
NTPC and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
