Jury’s Appreciation Award & Exemplary Leader Award to ONGC
New Delhi, February 04, 2008
| Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC)
secured the ‘Jury’s Special Appreciation Award’ under the
Employer Branding Awards 2007-08. The award came ONGC’s
way as a special tribute from the high-powered Jury who
considered ONGC as “the only organization among PSUs that
is considered an Employer Brand”.

‘Exemplary Leader Award’. |

The Exemplary Leader awards are given under the Hall of
Fame awards to iconic HR leaders who demonstrate vision and
belief that HR in the only way one can make a difference in
business organizations. Last year, the Hall of Fame Awards
were given to Sunil Mittal (Bharti) and Prem Kamath
(Hindustan Lever).
| Employer Branding Awards originated in the
United States of America, to reward excellence in Human
resources, especially in the field of Employee Care.
Awards were given on 1st February 2008 for 11 categories.
These Awardees will contest for the finals in Mumbai later
this month for gaining Asia-Pacific entries.
Speaking to an elite audience after receiving the awards,
Dr. Balyan said that ONGC has grown continuously over the last
more than 50 years, from a government

department to a vibrant multinational, a position where
each employee can take
pride in their employer.
“Apart from being the biggest wealth creator for the
nation, ONGC has recently become the first and only Indian
company to figure in Fortune’s ‘World’s Most admired Companies
of 2007’. I am particularly happy, as HR aspect had received a
major weightage in the Fortune listing also”.
