'India, Russia plan to
increase trade turnover to USD 10 bn'
New Delhi, December 29, 2006
| The present trade turnover exceeds three
billion dollars, but the two countries' aim is to increase
the volume of bilateral trade up to 10 billion dollars by
2010, the ITAR-TASS news agency quoted him as saying.
To achieve this aim, it is planned to create an
economic forum, the first meeting of which is scheduled to
be held in New Delhi in February 2007, he said. More than
300 businessmen from Russia are expected to attend it.
India is interested in participating in Russia's oil
and gas projects for partnership, he said. In their turn,
as Sibal noted, Indian companies are ready to hold talks
on joint processing of raw materials on the territory of
Russia, first of all, in Siberia. |

It is also possible to implement projects together with
Russian entities Gazprom and Rosneft, including the creation
of joint ventures, the report said.
