Pakistan & India on a
Road to Friendship
New Delhi, December 21, 2006
| Mr. Mohammanmian Soomro, Chairman, Senate
of Pakistan and Chairman, Commonwealth Parliamentary
Association alongwith with a delegation is on a visit to
India. On meeting the Indian Vice President and the
Chairman of Rajya Sabha Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat he
expressed concerns of Pakistan to enhance the cooperation
between the two countries as also their Parliaments. |

The luminaries' reconciled that high level exchanges and
interactions which have positively influenced the relations on
both sides are a result of historical and cultural
commonalities between India & Pakistan.
Both parties after a fruitful meeting hoped that there is
immense scope to further strengthen bilateral trade and
commerce between the two countries, and the trade and economic
relations are made to grow to their fullest potential. While
cultural cooperation has an important place in the bilateral
relationship, an understanding was reached that people to
people contact between the two countries needs to be
facilitated without fail.
