4 lac students
participate in painting competition
organised by BEE
New Delhi, December 12, 2006
About four lakh students from 18000 schools across the
country participated in the Painting Competition organized by
the Ministry of Power through Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
Energy Conservation was the theme of the three -tier event
organized as part of National Campaign on Energy Conservation
2006. The state level painting competition was held on 14th
November 2006 and winners from 35 States and Union Territories
(2 each) participated in the final held in New Delhi today.
The paintings drawn by children reflected their interest in
the energy conservation activities and their concern about
energy crises. The expressions by the tiny-tots gave inspiring
ideas. The vibrant designs, confidence and clear understanding
of the topic, remarkable composure, creating marvels in energy
conservation ideas in an effective way were some of the
features these impressive paintings displayed.
Minister of Power, Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde will give away the
prizes to 10 children whose paintings will be selected for
1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize, 5 consolation prizes constituted by
the Ministry of Power and 2 special prizes constituted by the
Bureau of Energy Efficiency. The winners will be awarded at a
ceremony in New Delhi on December 14, 2006, the National
Energy Conservation Day.
