Award for PNB's Nepal
Venture

Punjab National Bank has won an international award for its
joint venture in Nepal. Everest Bank, a Nepali bank that
joined forces with PNB in 1997, has been declared "Bank of the
Year" in Nepal in 2006 by the Banker, a publication of the
London-based Financial Times, as a tribute to its consistent
business growth, improved assets and attractive returns to
shareholders. The Bank has now 18 branches and is opening two
more branches at Nepalgunj and Balaju in Kathmandu Valley
during the current financial year. The branch network of the
Bank is the largest among the private sector bank in the
country.
