ONGC commissions Nile Ganga BV in Sudan
12” x 741 km multi product Pipeline System was dedicated to the nation
by HE Mr. Slva Kiir Mayardiit, the first vice – President, Government of
Sudan, in presence of HE Dr. Awad Al Jazz, Minister of Energy & Mining,
Government of Sudan and HE the Ambassador of India in Sudan Mr. Deepak Vohra
at a glittering ceremony on 10th December, 2005 at Khartoum refinery,
Khartoum.
The 12” x 741 km multi product pipeline system is the maiden overseas
EPC venture of ONGC Group of Companies. ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL), the wholly
owned subsidiary of ONGC successfully completed the pipeline project
connecting Khartoum Refinery to Port Sudan in 14 months, against the
contractual schedule of 16 months. With the completion of this project 2
months ahead of schedule, ONGC Videsh Ltd. Has exhibited its expertise to
undertake international construction projects setting a benchmark of quality
and time commitment.
The pipeline will transport Mo gas and Gas oil including other white
products like Kerosene and Fuel Oil. The pipeline system included
construction of the main line, piping works for 6 pumping stations, 10 Block
Valve stations, laying of 12 core Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) and integrating
latest SCADA & Telecom System for Data Management and Communication.
The project has been financed by OVL. The repayments to OVL shall be made
by Ministry of Energy and Mining, Government of Sudan, over a period of 9
years in 18 half yearly equated installments, the fist installment being due
on 3012/2005.
