PNB writes off Manjunath's loan

Punjab National Bank has written off entire education loan amount of Rs.1.73 lac outstanding in the name of Shri S.Manjunath, who was murdered on 19.11.05 by anti-social elements. As a goodwill gesture, the Bank has also decided to remit insurance claim of Rs.1.50 lac to the family members of Late Shri Manjunath after settlement by LIC.

Er. S.Manjunath, the young Indian Oil Corporation Officer with ambition to serve the Nation with commitment and sincerity was unfortunately murdered. A brilliant student throughout his career had availed education loan of Rs.1.50 lac from PNB's Chatta Meel Lucknow branch for studies at IIM Lucknow. He had been regular in paying loan instalments and had repaid bank dues regularly till he met with the tragedy.
