R. N. Bhardwaj takes over as LIC Chairman

Mr. R.N. Bhardwaj has taken over as the Chairman of LIC of India , today i. Mr. Bhardwaj has succeeded Mr.S. B. Mathur who retired on 31st October, 2004. He was the Current-in-Charge & Managing Director earlier before being appointed as Chairman of LIC.

He joined LIC as a Direct Recruit Officer in August 1968. He has a post graduate degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and is a Diploma holder in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. He held many notable assignments like Executive Director (Investment), Regional Manager (P & IR)- North Central Zone, Chief (Investment )and Sr. Divisional Manager (Kolkata - Division II and Delhi - Division II).

Mr. Bhardwaj has attended various national and international level seminars held at Manchester School of Business Management, U.K.; IIM, Ahmedabad; MDI, Gurgaon; International School of Business Management; and also at National Insurance Academy, Pune. He was a member of a Committee appointed by the Government of India to study Investment Management and held discussions with Fund Managers at Frankfurt, New York, Columbus and Los Angeles.

He is an avid reader and evinces great interest in subjects pertaining to Management, Marketing and Philosophy. He has penned various articles on Human Resource Development, Marketing and Organisational strengths.
