IndianOil, India's largest commercial enterprise employing over 30,000 people, bagged the coveted HT PowerJobs Award in the category "Organisation with innovative HR practices'. Mr. P K Agarwal, Director (HR), IndianOil, received the award recently from Mr. Rajiv Karwal, MD & CEO, Electrolux, at an exclusive awards ceremony attended by India's corporate glitterati. Instituted by the Centre for Change Management, Mumbai, the awards were presented for excellence in HR parameters.
It may be recalled that in a recent Hewitt Associates-CNBC survey, IndianOil, for the second time running, was featured in the Top 10 Best Employers listing. IndianOil was also the only oil company to be featured in the Top 10 listing.
With competition hotting up in the oil sector post APM, IndianOil has been focussing its attention aligning its HR strategies to match with business strategies, so as to provide a learning and knowledge-based environment for its employees. The people-centric HR philosophy at IndianOil is designed to foster a culture of participation and innovation leading to employee growth and contribution.
As part of IndianOil's overall plan to increase productivity, it has recently engaged Ernst & Young to design a comprehensive competency-building blueprint to match current and future needs of the Corporation. It has also recently enganged Hewitt Associates to design an individual incentive scheme to enhance the performance culture in the organisation.
