NTPC Signed MoU With NPTI

NTPC Limited and National Power Training Institute (NPTI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for running of Solapur Power Training Institute being set up at Solapur, Maharashtra. The Institute shall meet requirement of skilled workforce in the Industries and power sector by developing and enhancing the technical skills of the local youth of areas in and around the upcoming NTPC project at Solapur.

The MoU was signed by R K Rustagi, Executive Director (PMI & HRD) on NTPC’s behalf and A V Chaoji, Principal Director (NPTI), on NPTI’s behalf, in presence of R C Shrivastav, Director(HR), NTPC and Dr N S Saxena, Director General, NPTI.

NTPC has recently launched new Courses in 12 NTPC adopted and New Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) at various locations in the vicinity of NTPC power stations to help in meeting the skilled manpower requirement.

As per the terms of MoU the Institute shall be set up by NTPC and shall be run by NPTI. NTPC shall also be supporting NPTI in meeting the gap between the revenue earning and the operational expenditure for initial period of two years from the date of functioning of Institute. The Institute shall also provide an opportunity to the existing employees from Power Sector and other Industry to upgrade their skills.
