President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam conferred “Ministry of Power National Awards” to 10 Power Stations of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for outstanding performance, at a function organised in New Delhi today.
Out of 24 power stations that have bagged the Gold Shield, 10 power stations
belong to NTPC. The Stations are Ramagundam, Korba, Rihand, Singrauli, Badarpur,
Dadri(Coal), Unchahar, Vindhyachal, Anta Gas and Simhadri. Awards have been
presented for four years, from 2000-01 to 2003-04 Ramagundam, Korba, Rihand and Singrauli Stations of NTPC have been receiving
the Gold Shield and Certificate, continuously since 2000-01 to 2003-04 for their
outstanding performance. Ministry of Power National Awards for Thermal Power Stations is an Annual National Award which have been instituted by the Central Electricity Authority (Ministry of Power) to inculcate a competitive sprit and to motivate the power utilities to achieve high level of performance.
