Maharashtra gets 3206.41cr from GOI

For the Fiscal year 2007-08, under the Union Budget Estimates,
the State of Maharashtra has received a disbursement to the
tune of Rs 2295.28cr under various central government schemes.
The funds received are twofold as compared to 2006-07 in which
the funds received were to the tune of Rs 1195.55cr. Under
JNNURM the state got 911.13 cr as against 874.70 cr received
in the 2006-07. All this has been possible due to Maharashtra
Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's rigorous persuasion by
calling upon various Union Ministers.
The highest amount of central assistance has been received
under the Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme Scheme (AIBP)
is Rs 972.25 cr from the national total of Rs 3580 cr. The
funds sanctioned under this scheme are 27.1% of All-India
allocation whereas the state holds a population proportionate
figure of 9.4%. This is a great achievement for the state.
During the year 2006-07, the funds received under this scheme
were Rs 463.72 cr.
Under the JNNURM-funding Maharashtra, retaining its last
year's position has received Rs 911.13 cr. This has increased
by 13% as compared to the last year's figure of 874.70 cr.
In the year 2007-08, Maharashtra received Rs 404.30 cr
(361.52cr for 2006-7)for Accelerated Rural Water Supply
Scheme, Rs 215.91 cr (163.48cr for 2006-7)under Indira Awaas
Yojana, Rs 563.96 cr (108.85cr for 2006-7)under Pradhan Mantri
Gram Sadak Yojana, Rs 972.25 cr (463.72cr for 2006-7)under
AIBP and Rs 138.80 cr (87.98cr for 2006-7)under Micro
Irrigation Scheme. Under Urban Infrastructure Governance, Rs
588.27cr (413.58cr for 2006-7), under Basic Services for the
Urban Poor Rs 185.59cr (287.58cr for 2006-7), Rs 101.74 cr
(117.75cr for 2006-7) under Urban Infrastructure Development
of Small and Medium Towns scheme, Rs 55.53 cr (55.79cr for
2006-7) under Integrated Housing Slum Development.
