New Delhi, June 25 : DSP, a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has been awarded with the Greentech Safety Award 2012 in Gold Category in Metal & Mining Sector. The award has been given in recognition of DSP’s efforts and achievements in promoting safety at the workplaces.
DSP makes sustained efforts throughout the year to create awareness about safety and also strengthens the safety measures continuously in the plant. The plant is accredited to OHSAS 18001: 2007 certification. The plant follows a well-defined system, which not only creates awareness about safety among the employees but also motivates them to suggest and implement innovative safety measures at the workplaces on a continuous basis. Going beyond the plant, safety awareness is regularly created among the housewives and children in the steel township.
The Greentech Safety Award 2012 will be handed over to DSP in the Safety & Security Conference to be held at Srinagar during July 12-13, 2012. It may be mentioned that in recent times DSP has won several national level awards for safety and occupational health.
