New Delhi, Sept 19
An Indian Youth delegation led by Ajay Maken Minister of State ( I/C) of Youth Affairs & Sports is leaving for China tomorrow under Indo- China Youth Exchange Programme.
The Chinese Government has the designated year 2011 as the year of India China Youth Exchange and it is the 6th Indian delegation visiting China under the programme. The Premier of China has invited a 500 member Youth Delegation to China while, he was in New Delhi in December, 2010.
The Indian Youth delegation consisting of 500 members will visit Beijing , Guangzhou and Shanghai during their ten day stay in China from 20th to 29th September ,2011.
This year delegation comprises of young leaders from political parties, youth from academics, Panchyati Raj Institutions, folk and culture artists, media, Chinese studies, volunteers of National Youth Corps and National Services Scheme. Efforts have been made to ensure that the composition of the delegation is gender balanced and all the regions are represented.
The exchange programme involves interaction with local youth, visits to tourist and cultural sites and introduction to economic and social activities. In addition, it also has elements of educations value with interaction and exchanges with students and faculty member meetings with economic and political personages and interactive session`s in different areas such as culture and sports. It also includes visits to rural areas.
